Providing What Families and Their Loved Ones Need Most Since 2002

Our Story

Senior Helpers originated in the United States in 2002, founded by Tony Bonacuse and Peter Ross. Both Peter and Tony had firsthand experience caring for family members and recognized the demand for professional, compassionate, and comprehensive senior care. While exploring senior care options for their own relatives, they discovered that many caregivers or care agencies did not respond promptly, or lacked professionalism and passion for their work.

Recognizing the need to address these deficiencies in the industry and provide trustworthy and professional care for senior citizens, Tony and Peter embarked on creating an organization to meet those needs.

In 2002, the first Senior Helpers office in the United States opened in Baltimore, Maryland. As anticipated, there was a significant demand from individuals caring for their loved ones who sought the higher level of service Senior Helpers provided. Having swiftly gained a reputation for excellence, Senior Helpers opened a second office on the west coast in Orange County, California.

With Senior Helpers flourishing on both coasts in the USA, the company began franchising locations to extend the brand’s signature programs and premier service offerings to those in need throughout the country. In 2017, Senior Helpers began offering franchise opportunities throughout Canada as well. Today, the company has more than 350 locations worldwide, and by welcoming motivated and passionate franchisees into the Senior Helpers system, Senior Helpers Franchising, LLC has continued to build a strong reputation for professional and compassionate senior care throughout North America.
